8 players said they wouldn't play for nothing. Get the kids in, get anyone in who wants a game...get behind them and watch players play their hearts out for nothing like our lads did last season.

Eastwood were always going to have problems as soon as Rob Yong pulled his backing.

Of more direct relevance to the Reds, Totton could be having problems too, though whispers down this way that this is a smokescreen to ensure the right result in a boardroom battle.

http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/main-sponsor-pulls-out-at-afc-totton-11528/

AFC Totton’s main sponsor Jim Fallon is withdrawing his funding with immediate effect because he has “very serious concerns” about how the executive committee are running the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club.

Fallon arrived on the Testwood Stadium scene last September, having personally donated £10,000 to become first-team shirt sponsor.

Since November his company, Beaumont Water Heaters, has additionally funded the club to the tune of £2,400 a week, much of which has gone towards boosting Stuart Ritchie’s playing squad in the quest for promotion to the Blue Square Bet South.

A further £15,000 had been budgeted for to cover the rest of this season and Fallon was prepared to plough in another £50,000 for 2012/13 rather than renew his executive box at St Mary’s. Beaumont’s money has funded the arrival of several new players, notably goalkeeper James Bittner and front man Ryan Moss, and also pays for coach travel and pre-match meals for the team.

But while Fallon has been working closely with Ritchie and assistant boss Sean New to raise the level of professionalism on the playing side, he feels the rest of the club is lagging behind when it comes to generating income and driving the club forward.

Accusing the executive committee of being “nodding dogs – all talk and no action”, he said: “I’ve stood by my word and put my money where my mouth is and I’m prepared to put in more, but not when the executive committee are doing what they’re doing.

“The club needs promotion to bring in bigger gate receipts than they’re getting now and, to do that, they need quality players coming in.

“But the club is doing nothing to take the initiative and make AFC Totton a self-sustaining business,” he claimed. “The executive committee have done nothing whatsoever in terms of sustaining a fiscal prudent commercial club operation and they should take a long look at themselves having failed on all fronts.”

Fallon is also irked that, having paid to be shirt sponsor, the Beaumont name has not appeared on the players’ shirts since the club’s 125th anniversary kits went up in smoke in a fire in a commercial laundry in January.

It is understood the delivery of new shirts bearing the Beaumont logo is imminent.

Fallon’s withdrawal comes in the same week that a new club chairman has been appointed. Sean Whelan, a former shirt sponsor and tannoy announcer at Eastleigh FC, has replaced Phil Shephard who left last month after two years at the helm.

Shephard confirmed he had stood down for personal reasons, but Fallon believes the executive committee were behind it.

He said: “Philip was a dedicated individual that had AFC Totton’s best interests at heart at all times, for and on behalf of the club’s supporters and members.”

Reading that, it helps me realise what a good job Chris is doing, investing rather than Chucking money at Redditch United.

It's clear he's doing it properly and treating it like a business.

I know i'm not allowed to back the club and must critisize it at every waking hour, but we're on the right track, i feel! Cup
