"Redditch United FC have joined forces with Viking Boxing & Fitness Club to bring Boxing back to the Valley Stadium on the 28th July 2012, This time however the Ring will be on the pitch and in front of we hope a 2000 crowd. You would think that would be enough to get excited about but it does not stop there, former world heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon has been confirmed to fight as well as local Boxing hero Jimmy Moran and many more. There will also be Live music throughout the day and loads for the kids to do to keep you entertained and don't worry about going thirsty or hungry as we will be providing outdoor bars and snack wagons to make sure we cater for everyone throughout the day. We will updating you with times as well as the various entry prices in the next month or so with a percentage of each ticket going to charity, we will also need the help of volunteers so if you would like to help or for more info Contact Jeff Watson at the Club on 01527 67450 via email at redditchutdfc@ymail.com or viking boxing & fitness club on 01527 523861"

BRILLIANT for the town...well done to all involved...let's hope for a great crowd for a great night of boxing, under the flood lights of Redditch United.

This is an excellent idea! I'll certainly be attending. It should be a real money spinner and raise our profile, although it probably won't do our pitch much good!!

The pitch will not be affected, a hard cover will be fitted on the pitch and the ring will sit on that. we estimate this will be down for two days so will have little to no effect on the pitch, only a small section of the pitch will be used.
