Boxing night at the Club?

Post  Mr Bonehead on Tue Jan 24, 2012 1:42 pm

I heard a rumour today that the Club is going to put on a charity boxing night in the summer. I can't say it was a reliable source and it might be a load of tosh but could be quite popular if true. I won't embarrass myself and repeat the names of those who might be fighting in case it is bollocks! If this rumour is unfounded then perhaps it might something the club could consider?

We’ve had boxing at The Valley before. I can only remember seeing it on one occasion; it was a long time ago and took place during a midweek match!!! I remember standing on the Cedar Road and I could see a couple of young lads fighting away in the function room. The function room was packed.

These boxing nights happen at The Rocklands quite regularly. There are a few videos on youtube. The function room there always seems to be rammed solid. Whether this boxing night is a rumour or not, it’s a great idea for the function room.

This was being talked about in the summer of 2011 so it sounds like the club want to do it

Perhap's a 'match up' with you over 3 rounds for charity using some very soft gloves...........and maybe a couple of handbags?

As Leethall said, this was mentioned a few times last year.
Would be a very good money maker.
A close-season concert would be good too, providing the pitch is covered.

This could be a winner guy’s well done who ever came up with it.

I would love to go toe to toe with Leethall in a friendly match up although I may be a little too old, that said I reckon I could still get a TKO while he decides if he wants the Red Corner or the Blue Corner. I love you

Maybe it could be a charity boxing night we hold and we could maybe for a bit of light hearted banter maybe invite the Solihoof Secretary to box against the Redditch Secretary? All funds on this bout to goto charity?
