Cautionary tale: HMRC issue winding-up petition against Truro City

Post  ted striker on Thu Sep 22, 2011 6:56 am

From the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15018527.stm

It may come to nothing - indeed, I hope it comes to nothing - but Truro fans must be alarmed at this turn of events. How many clubs are going to tread this well-worn path before everyone agrees that enough is enough? Not every club that grows so much so quickly is doomed to failure, but it happens so often that only the foolhardy would dare try these days, which is a shame as for each club that fails, another nail is hammered into the coffin of ambition.
