Past videos of Redditch.

Just found this youtube channel and it has a lot of old videos of Bromsgrove Rovers in the 90's and one of their cup runs where they got on Match of the Day. After Jeff collecting all those programs and photos I was just wondering if we have anyone who has old video clips of Redditch in the past out there, as i'm sure they would be an interesting watch!

I was hugging the exit gate when Rob Taylor let rip in the dying seconds!!!

That video does not do his goal or this game justice. Gordan Banks who? Richard Anstiss pulled off two world class saves that would have been spoken of in years to some if Sky Sports had been there!

Yeah what a match! Anstiss was truly world class that night and the astonishing saves he made are there for all to see. As for Taylor's goal, when I put myself live at that match it never seemed like he was THAT far out at the time but the video obviously shows otherwise. A goal which if Rooney had scored it would be one of the goals of the season! Oh and that spec running back and forth at great speed behind the goal after Taylor scored is me! Very Happy

There's some very old vids on YouTube from the 70's and 80's. Look for wealdstone vs redditch and tanworth fa cup redditch. We get smashed in both though!

Great find! Would love to see that footage.
Might be worth e-mailing The Posh to check their archives for any match highlights?

I e-mailed Mace about the footage for Redditch Vs Peterborough and got the following response:

Hi Andy

Thank you for your email regarding [ATV Today: 18.11.1971: Redditch United Football Club]

This is the only item I can find on that particular event I’m afraid. This clip is not available to view online as it is still held on 16mm film. Prepping and Transferring 16mm film is a long process. The cost to prepare the film for transfer, transfer to DVD, DVD and Sleeve printing, Administration and dispatch is therefore £60 + VAT (a heavily subsided rate from our commercial charges).

The film is the copyright of ITV but as part of our administration process we contact ITV to clear the supply of the material to you.

At present we have a 6-8 week waiting list for transferring footage to members of the public. This is because we are in the third year of a Heritage Lottery Funded project to digitise material found by communities in the Midlands.

If you would like to go ahead and obtain a DVD copy of the footage, please let me know and I will explain the procedure further. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes

Eliza

As much as I'd love to see it, I couldn't justify £60+ for a 3-minute video of a pre-match interview.
