Nil nil. We should have scored through Green and Nunny hit the post albeit a great save from Dormond

FInished 1-1. Really should have won as Nuneaton were below par today and Green has 2 other great chances.

A very incouraging performance from us today. Phil Green was a constant threat and Ayres and Whilding were solid in defence and midfield. The new right back Platt was good and if Green had taken his 2 clear cut chances we would have won this at a canter Head against wall

Unfortunately after we scored we dropped deeper and deeper and deeper and they scored Head against wall Head against wall Head against wall Head against wall

Overall a good performance in front of a crowd of 965 with about 10 Reds fans (including resident Scribe Fingers on his own in the marquee installed for him Very Happy!

Bring on Hyde, if we can perform as we did today I think the next win is just around the corner

quotes from Non-League Football Forum-
''Just been told a minibus from Redditch turned up, with 15 proper lads. Went The Crows, weren't allowed in the ground, then went the wine bar(attleborough) and started to smash it up. Within 10 minutes phonecalls were made and 40 lads at the bar. Police closed it and Redditch lads smashed windows and got a pasting''.

"Came for trouble, got trouble by the sounds of it. Second text says ''not sure how bad, but rumour is 3 Redditch lads in hospital?''
It was probably Teflon fans, their game was called off wasn't it, they may have already had a minibus booked and thought fluff it, we'll smash Nuneaton up"

"On a serious note, I can't think who it would be, we've hardly got any fans left, never been a problem with Nuneaton (Bedworth on the other hand!!) our fans who travel to watch England travel with Nuneaton fans, i'm in Australia so I cant think who it would be, it just doesn't make any sense to me!!!"
I'm pretty confident that this one will turn out not to be Redditch fans (this time)
My thoughts
I did not sign up for this, just as we start to get rid of the bad reputation. Im all for defending ourselves but not looking for it Evil or Very Mad, If it turns out to be R/fans and turns out to be attack rather than defence then the club needs to sort it. How can we even bother to promote the club if this stuff gets out(which it will),If you were told this story followed by "come and bring your Family down to the Valley" what would you do? This smacks of 5 steps forward and 10 steps back. I really hope this turns out to be nothing to do with us or at least not our fault, if someone has been hospitalised I hope they are ok.

I hope that they are not Redditch fans, this is the sort of publicity that we can well do without. Since we have been coming down to watch Redditch, we have noticed that the club was moving in the right directions, if this is the case, it is back to the bad old days, and what little support we have with families coming down to watch the game will inevitably stop, then what?? Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad I hope the stories are untrue

I agree, it would make me think about going to most away games and some home games. and to think we nearly got away with a fantastic weekend that may now be remembered for all the wrong reasons, How sad. Sad Sad Sad Sad

Agree. Not proper fans if this is true, goes against what the club want to achieve.

What they were going to do in Nuneaton where they would be outnumbered is just plain stupid if it is true and also not called for Head against wall Head against wall Head against wall Head against wall Head against wall

Agree Bob but when this is in the press and obviously happened then they are classed as RUFC fans so there is no hiding place from it:

A totally different story from what I've been told by people who were there.Either way let's hope that's the end of it. There's NO place for that kind of thing.
Don't believe what you read in the press. You should know that from Fingers match reports.

I have made contact with them via facebook and they are fine and well aware of the situation, this is a message from them(I have cut details of the incident out)
"We know only to well true club supporters don't cause trouble, it all happened before the game (and away from) , all the very best and keep going. your chairman is doing a good job and the team on both occasions have not stopped effort wise , we hope you stay up."
I have thanked them on behalf of us all for there kind words and solidarity. Very Happy
