Redditch v Walsall

Redditch 1 Walsall 2

A game of two halves really. Redditch picked up where they started the second half vrs Solihoof and were abysmal in the 1st half. Defensively we were shocking, the left back was replaced after we were 2-0 down with Asa moving there and Jamal slotting in a centre half. Ex loanee Jake Jones netting.

It wasn't helped by the non existence of the midfield who decided to go Gung hoo and left the defence to be over ran by some impressive footballing from Walsall. The 2 lads up front were very good and caused problem after problem asking questions at every opportunity. The keeper Cooper seems to be a liability and was at fault for the second goal which is worrying.

Second half it seems like Rodney Redders had a stern word and we came out with more desire and purpose with Charisma and Brown up front seeing more service and Will Richards reduced the deficit. Danks and Reid came on and caused a few problems but overall there are a few worrying aspects before the start of the season.

Albeit a number of players are injured (Hickman, Hull etc), holidaying (Qaynor, Wilding etc) and a few positions not having the sufficient quality we require.

Hopefully the game at Rushall will allow us to see Midworth, Bridgewater, Qaynor, Wilding etc play to give us more of a look at the side that will play in the 1st league game.

We need another striker to play with Danks and Stu Hendrie on the right side of midfield.
